Thua Thien-Hue Province is making an effort to lure in VND 1,700 billion ($92 million) worth of investments in the Chan May-Lang Co Economic zone during 2010.

The province is planning to call for Official Development Assistance (ODA) and effective deployment of government bonds in order to invest towards the first phase of a dyke construction at Chan May harbour, a waste collecting and processing system in the economic zone, the Chan May urban area and other important transportation projects.
The authorities have prioritised the needs and created favourable conditions to speed up licensed projects, particularly the Laguna tourism area in Hue, technical infrastructure of the economic zone, the Saigon-Chan May duty free zone and the Chan May General hospital.
In addition, it is necessary to expand the Chan May oil reservation capacity from 7,000 cubic metres to 100,000 cubic metres. Other projects, such as the Bai Chuoi tourism area and the Thu Duc-Lang Co office and hotel complex, will be started within the year.
At present, there are 21 state owned projects which are in the implementation stage including 16 transportation projects, 4 re-habitation area projects and 1 public construction project.
