Authorities in Quang Tri Province confirmed that the body of a 68-year-old man was recovered on the morning of February 20 from the Gianh River, one day after the accident.
The man was one of two people initially reported missing when the vessel sank on the morning of February 19.
Earlier the same day, rescuers found the bodies of his wife and a three-year-old child, bringing the death toll to three.
Search operations are continuing for another missing passenger, the man’s 14-year-old granddaughter.
Three additional people who were travelling on the boat were rescued by local residents shortly after the incident.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the sinking while maintaining search efforts along the river.
