According to the park management board, the park’s Centre for Rescue, Preservation and Development of Creatures has received many rare wild animals from local residents.
One assam macaque released to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park by a local people
Recently, Nguyen Xuan Khieu in Bo Trach District handed over one pig-tailed macaque to the centre. The 1.5-kilo macaque was found in his garden.
Other animals include one langur and one 4.3-kilo assam macaque. These animals are being taken care of by the centre before being released.
Earlier, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park also received a palm civet, assam macaque, pig-tailed macaque and reticulated python.
Campaigns in recent years have improved local awareness about the need to preserve the environment.
