Ho Van Rai from Huong Phung Commune in Huong Hoa District was suddenly attacked by a white-headed gibbon at around 9:30 on Thursday, while the man was collecting timber.

Rai was scratched on his back.
The animal weighed around 15 kilos and lives in a forest near Rai’s farm.
On the same day, another white-headed gibbon was seen near a forest in Huong Phung Commune. Locals drove the animal away.
The white-cheeked gibbon is classified as extremely rare and endangered and is listed in the Red Data Book of Vietnam and the IUCN Red List.
