Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco) opened its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam recently as part of the extension of its vast global marketing network.
The opening ceremony was attended by Senior Vietnamese Governmental dignitaries along with many Vietnamese customers and businessmen.
The inauguration of QAPCO’s Vietnam office is a continuation of the company’s quest to preserve its positioning as the leading exporter of Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) in the Middle East and to translate the strategic importance of the South East Asia market to Qapco, said the company in a press statement.
Qapco’s Global Marketing Network reached 26 self operated offices and 5 regional warehouses by March end this year.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dr Al Mulla stressed the importance of the Vietnamese market to Qapco which has been supplying its LDPE products to great number of Vietnamese customers for over 20 years.
He said that Qapco’s LDPE is sold to over 4,500 customers spread over 85 countries worldwide.
“Such global exposure was designed to support and complement the expansion plans of Qapco,” said Dr Al Mulla. “QATOFIN, a subsidiary of Qapco with 450 KMT per annum of LLDPE, was inaugurated last week and Qapco has just launched the LDPE-3 project which will increase its LDPE capacity form 400 KMT at present to 700 KMT per annum by the end of 2011.”
He added that the opening of self operated offices overseas had boosted Qapco’s position among other competitors on the world market by enabling Qapco to get closer to its customers, understand and meet their demands and needs up to their best expectations.
