Cisco’s unified computing system delivers innovation for virtualization that helps to improve productivity, increase service agility and lower total cost of ownership.

Openning remark by Lee Chiang Toh, General Director, Cisco Sytems Vietnam

This is one of the main issues presented at the Data center of the future workshop jointly organised by Cisco and its partners including International Data Corporation (IDC), WMware, Intel, APC and ADC Krone on March 2nd in Hanoi and March 4th in Ho Chi Minh City.

Unified computing integrates computing, networking and storage access into a single, integrated system, optimised for virtualised environments. Designed to work as a cohesive system, the unified computing architecture provides the density, control and performance to allow customers to vitualise more of their application footprint.

This system allows users to allocate and redeploy resources quickly and efficiently, to meet rapidly changing business requirements. The time to deploy new applications is reduced from weeks or months to minutes.

In addition, as part of the workshop, Cisco also explained its own approach and strategy to building an internal private infrastructure as a service cloud.

Cisco IT is adopting an internal private cloud to provide a rapid and cost-effective, self-service solution capable of meeting the dynamic infrastructure needs of its clients. The primary driver for moving to this cloud based infrastructure is to reduce service provisioning times and costs, whilst increasing overall service resiliency and availability.

The system provides a highly scalable and available service cloud on which can be built platform as a Service and/or Software as a Service Cloud based services.
