The Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has offered 30 percent discount tickets on different routes after the Tet Lunar New Year.
Thai Van Truyen, director of the Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, said that from February 27, the firm will adjust the schedule of many train routes to meet travel demand. Among those, train services SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6 and SE7/8 linking HCM City and Hanoi will run daily.
Trains SE21/22 connecting HCM City and Danang, SNT1/2 (HCM City-Nha Trang) and SPT1/2 (HCM City-Phan Thiet) will also be operated daily.
The company will arrange more trains if passenger numbers rise.
The firm will offer a discount of 5-30 percent for railway tickets on many routes. The promotion will be applied to passengers who book tickets for a distance of at least 900 kilometres on trains SE3/4 and SE7/8 (HCM City-Hanoi) or 300 kilometres on trains SNT1/2 (HCM City-Nha Trang) for five days prior to the departure time.
Passengers who buy tickets on trains SPT1/2 (HCM City-Phan Thiet) 10 days before the departure time will enjoy a discount of 10 percent.
People purchasing tickets for a group of at least five people will be given a discount of 2-14 percent.
The company has continued to offer discounts for Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, war veterans, individuals affected by chemical toxins, severely disabled individuals, elderly people, children and students.
