PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on October 26 chaired a press conference on the outcomes of the World Economic Forum on the Mekong region (WEF-Mekong), the 8th Summit of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Viet Nam (CLMV 8) and the 7th Summit of Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS 7).

Viet Nam invited development partners to these events including the World Bank, the United Nations, the Asian Development Bank and large corporations in the WEF and the region.
Delegates proposed strengthening internal relations as well as promoting relationship with developed nations, the PM said.
When asked about achievements of these three meetings, PM Phuc referred to measures to mobilize resources to develop and awake the development potentials of the Mekong region, ways to strengthen cooperation between the Governments and the business community and digital application to uphold potentials and strength in fields of tourism, organic agriculture and information technology.
Regarding special characteristics of these events, the Vietnamese leader referred to the highest ever number of delegates to these meetings.
Talking about effectiveness and advantages brought by the ACMECS and CLMV for Viet Nam, PM Phuc asserted that the nation has to realize its shortcomings and responsibilities in the blocs and the importance of preparing high feasible projects.
The nation should improve its business environment and establish a Government of creativity and integrity that takes active actions to serve the people and businesses and facilitate the socio-economic development.
