The kites were spotted at around 2.56 pm on Tuesday near the threshold of runway 29.
After receiving the report, the Noi Bai International Airport Emergency Command Centre alerted the relevant authorities. Noi Bai police, working with local officials near the eastern end of the runway and airport security staff, carried out an on-site inspection.
They found four children flying kites near the runway in Bac Gia Hamlet, Phu Lo Commune. Officers confiscated three kites and issued warnings to the children and their guardians, reminding them of aviation safety regulations.
Previously, Noi Bai International Airport and the Northern Airports Authority had issued official warnings to local residents about the dangers of kite flying, balloon releases, sky lanterns, and flycam use near the airport.
With schools on summer break, the risk of kite flying and other aerial activities near the airfield increases. The airport has called for enhanced public awareness, monitoring, and coordination to maintain the highest level of flight safety.
