The Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health said that, as of 3 pm on March 14, 157 people were still being monitored in different hospitals and healthcare centres in Nha Trang, while 65 others had been discharged.
Deputy director of the department, Trinh Ngoc Hiep, paid a visit to patients being treated at some hospitals on March 14.
Hiep said that the patients were hospitalised between March 12-13 with symptoms including abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, and fatigue after having rice and chicken at Tram Anh Chicken Rice Restaurant on Ba Trieu Street.
"The restaurant has been suspended since March 13 while we're investigating the case," Hiep said, adding that they were still waiting for results from the food sample tests.
A report from the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee showed that the restaurant did not have papers relating to the origins of its food ingredients.
