According to the initial information, on February 23, fishing boat QNg 11126 TS with nine crew was returning to shore when it suddenly hit cargo ship Trung Thang 568.
The fishing boat sank after hitting into the cargo vessel on February 23.
As a result, both vessels sank and nine fishermen fell into the sea. Fishing boats operating nearby managed to save seven crew members and brought them ashore. Meanwhile, two remained missing.
Among the rescued fishermen, one was severely injured and died while being taken to hospital.
Quang Ngai Border Guard Command have sent a rescue ship to search for the missing.
