According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the cold weather has affected many northeastern and northwestern localities since Sunday. The weather would continue expanding to the central regions in the coming days.

The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to see two more strong cold snaps in the coming 10 days
Northern mountainous areas are experiencing the lowest temperature of below six to 14 degrees centigrade. Some areas would have frost. Localities from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue would see the lowest temperature of 14-17 degrees centigrade.
Some areas in Hanoi would see rains with the lowest temperature of 11-14 degrees centigrade.
Nguyen Van Huong, head of the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting’s Climate Forecasting Department, said that the cold weather would last in the northern region until early March.
In the next 10 days, many northern localities, including Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Son La, would have rains and fog.
Localities from Danang to Binh Thuan and the Central Highlands region would witness heavy rains and strong winds.
