Northern region to face heavy rains from Monday evening

It is forecasted that Hanoi and surrounding localities may see rainfall of between 40-80mm with some areas rising up to 120mmm from the evening of June 13 to 14.

From the evening of June 14 to 15, some provinces including Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa will also experience downpours with rainfall of between 30-80mm.

Besides showers, thunderstorms, coupled with whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong winds will also occur during this time.

There is a high risk of flash floods and landslides in the mountainous localities, and flooding in low areas.
