Noi Bai airport revises T1 pickup rules after complaints

Noi Bai International Airport has restored kerbside pickup for ride-hailing and other commercial vehicles at Terminal T1 after complaints that passengers had to walk to a nearby car park.

The adjustment was announced on August 5, two days after the airport introduced a new traffic circulation plan in coordination with the airport border police to improve aviation security, public order and traffic flow.

During the first days of implementation, airport staff and police were deployed to direct traffic and assist passengers.

Airport authorities acknowledged that the changes had caused inconvenience for some passengers using ride-hailing and other commercial transport services, who were required to collect vehicles at a car park instead of outside the terminal.

Following passenger feedback, commercial vehicles with yellow licence plates carrying fewer than nine passengers are now permitted to pick up passengers in Lane 3 outside Hall E of Terminal T1, alongside private vehicles with white licence plates.

The pickup area is covered, providing shelter for passengers and luggage in all weather conditions.

To prevent congestion, vehicles may stop in Lane 3 for no more than three minutes. Airport staff wearing orange "Here to Help" uniforms have also been stationed at terminals T1 and T2 to assist passengers in reaching pickup points.
