The resuce force has continued seeking for the missing fishermen

Cargo ship Pacific 1 of Ho Chi Minh City-based International Transportation and Trading JSC was travelling in the area when it collided with the fishing boat NA 95899 TS, which hailed from the north-central province of Nghe An.

The fishing boat with 19 crew members onboard sank after the collision. Pacific 1 quickly used their life buoys and were able to rescue nine out of 19 crew.

Half a day later, one body was found dead, while nine others remain unaccounted for.

Since then, efforts have been still made to look for the missing. Divers from Haiphong and Ha Tinh have been hired to search at a depth of 50 metres, however, they have failed to access the capsized fishing vessel.

The Ministry of Defence will send a diving robot to serve the work. The equipment is expected to arrive at the scene tomorrow, July 9.

Vietnam has also asked for Chinese support in the search.
