The incident occurred at Tram Anh Chicken Rice Restaurant on Ba Trieu Street on March 11.
According to Bui Xuan Minh, director of Khanh Hoa’s Department of Health, by Tuesday evening, 40 people were still being monitored in hospitals in Nha Trang, while another 20 had been discharged. People were hospitalised due to abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, and fatigue.

Food samples were collected for testing, Minh said, adding local hospitals are focusing on the treatment of the patients. Following the incident, Nha Trang authorities requested the restaurant to close during the investigation.
Tram Anh is famous for the dish and attracts hundreds of customers, including many tourists. A restaurant representative apologised for the poisoning incident and visited the patients in the hospital.
