Nearly 2,000 workers of Sakurai Vietnam Limited Company were on strike on January 4 in order to highlight their interests.
Workers on strike for the sake of their interests
The strike started on January 2. Representatives from the Labour Union of Thanh Hoa province, the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Trade Union of Nghi Son Economic Zone went to the field the next day and provided answers to all questions of workers.
The Trade Union requested that workers resume their jobs and allow authorities to solve all of their issues but most of them did not agree.
After that, Sakurai’s management talked to their employees about difficulties facing the company and promised to meet their requirements under legal regulations. Some workers had resumed their jobs on January 3rd but the next morning, they resumed their strike because they were not satisfied with previous agreements made with the company.
