Police in Vinh Phuc Province discovered government officials playing cards.
Nguyen Van Binh, Vice Director of Vinh Phuc's Department of Industry & Trade, was among those caught playing cards.
The case was discovered on February 27 at the house of Do Van Thanh, Vice Manager of Environment and Urban Company at Phuc Yen Commune, Trung Trac Ward, Phuc Yen Town.
Binh and Thanh were playing cards with Nguyen Van Dinh, who had been arrested previously for gambling. Also playing was Do Van Hung, Thanh's brother
The police confiscated VND40 million ($2,100), their cars and mobile phones.
Talking to DTiNews, the police said that the Department of Criminal Investigation of Social Order (PC14) under the Vinh Phuc Police Department is completing documents and a report which will be sent to the provincial police management board.
On February 26, numerous government officials were found playing cards on the property of the People’s Committee of Tien Dong Commune, Tu Ky District, Hai Duong Province.
