A ferry on the Tien River
In late May 2018, Cao Lanh Bridge was completed and opened for traffic. After the bridge was completed, only 2,000 motorbikes and 20 cars use the ferries a day. The authorities in Dong Thap also transferred five 100-tonne ferries, two 60-tonne ferries and 100 employees to work in other wharves.
Some parts of the wharf will be used for the work on the construction at Hong Ngu Wharf in Dong Thap Province.
Tran Tri Quang, director of Dong Thap Department of Transport said that during the time the wharf is shut down, they will open an auction to find investors for the new Lap Vo-Cao Lanh Wharf to serve people who want to cross Tien River.
The authorities will announce the completion date and operation date of the new wharf later.
