The Southern Airport Authority have fined a passenger VND8.50 million (USD344) after he stole a pair of sunglasses at Danang Airport.
According to the Southern Airport Authority, the 33-year-old male passenger took the Ray-Ban glasses which were left on a screening tray while going through security at the airport on February 28. He then boarded Flight VN1441/DAD-VCA and landed at Can Tho Airport the same day where he was summoned by local authorities following their viewing of security camera images.
The passenger then admitted that he had seen the sunglasses left on the tray and took them without informing the airport authorities.
The Southern Airport Authority fined the man VND8.50 million for theft.
The sunglasses were then returned to a 51-year-old female passenger who had forgotten them at Danang Airport.
