HCM City police have arrested Nguyen Tuan Anh, 33, in the neighbouring province of Binh Duong for assaulting a 53-year-old bus driver on the 19 bus route.
According to a video clip that has gone viral on social media in recent days, the incident occurred at around 5.30 am on March 22 on National Highway 13, in the section passing through Thu Duc City.

As the bus pulled to a stop to drop off passengers, Tuan Anh suddenly boarded the vehicle. He approached the driver’s seat and repeatedly struck the driver with his hands and feet. A bus staff member intervened, causing Tuan Anh to leave shortly afterwards. The onboard security camera captured the entire incident.
Police are currently preparing to charge Tuan Anh with disturbing public order. In addition, a medical assessment of the bus driver has been requested to support further proceedings against Tuan Anh for intentionally causing injury.
