Inspector Truong Duc Hanh found a forgotten bag with over USD1,400 worth of currency in it while checking the train on the 6.20 train from Hanoi to Lao Cai on March 12. He also found the personal papers of passenger Claus Rusberg along with the cash.
Hanh informed his boss to transfer the bag to Lao Cai Railway Transport JSC and return the bag to the passenger. They are still searching for the passenger.
During the Tet Holiday, the train crew already returned forgotten belongings to 57 passengers.
