The special ceremony was held on November 15 for 21 couples and attracted 300 guests who were invited to a tea-party for in congratulations of the newlyweds.
The couples said that they wanted the affair to be reminiscent of the simple and meaningful traditional ceremonies of the past. Rings made of dried grass, made by the couples' friends were used. This type of ring is mentioned in a popular Vietnamese love song. For some couples, the ceremony was meant to mark their anniversaries.
One couple said “We got approval from our both families to join the joint wedding ceremony. We also burned incense to inform our ancestors. This will be a very special and memorable day for us."
