Many streets in Hue City submerged after heavy rains on September 21

Ba Trieu, Dong Da, Nguyen Truong To and Ben Nghe streets were left a metre under water, causing traffic chaos, and leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded.

The water also flowed into many local houses. Schools in Hue allowed pupils to go home early on the afternoon of September 21 to ensure they could get home safely.

The Huong River is forecasted to continue rising in the days to come due to heavy rains.

Many of Hue’s streets look like construction sites when the city has carried out a project to improve water drainage. This contributed to serious flooding on September 21.
