Heavy rains caused a historic flooding in HCM City yesterday, turning many streets into rivers.
The torrential rains since 4pm on the afternoon of September 26 resulted in serious traffic jams in several districts.
Until 9pm on the same day, many streets were left nearly a metre under water and flowed into many houses.
A parking lot in District 1 was submerged by roughly two metres, leaving more than 1,000 motorbikes submerged. Police had to use specialist vehicles and pumps to remove the motorbikes from the water.
Pumping at the parking lot continued through to 2am this morning.
