Ha Long Bay sees tourist post-pandemic recovery

The bay currently receives around 10,000 visitors daily, equal to the number before the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of foreign travellers to the bay is expected to increase again from the fourth quarter of this year.

On June 8, the bay served 12,500 tourists, including 900 who stayed overnight. Since the start of this summer, the number of visitors to the bay has reached roughly 20,000 at weekends.

Jay Sung from South Korea said that this was the second time he had taken his family to visit Ha Long Bay over the past six years.

Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh will welcome charter flights from South Korea from early next month.

By the end of this month, the half-price ticket discount to Ha Long Bay will end and pricing will return to the levels of before the Covid-19 pandemic.
