He praised the contribution made by Catholics in assisting the country’s recovery from the economic crisis, adding that in 2010, the country achieved a remarkable success and now has a strong position in the region.
On the same day, a delegation of the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, led by Committee’s Deputy President Tran Hoang Tham, visited the Catholic Archdiocese in Ho Chi Minh City.
Talking with the delegation, Cardinal Pham Minh Man said Catholics are united with other fellow citizens and would like everyone in Vietnam to a happy and prosperous life.
Mr. Tran Hoang Tham honored the Catholic contribution to the patriot movement launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

On the same day, representatives of the committee also visited the Committee of the Protestant Church in Southern Vietnam.
In the central region, a delegation from the Thua Thien Hue province, led by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, visited the Catholic Archdiocese in Hue. He wished all Catholics a Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
On Christmas Day, a delegation of the province People’s Committee presented gifts to the Catholic congregation, who has strongly contributed to national unity.
