The document was signed by German Ambassador to Vietnam Christian Berger and Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Tran Xuan Ha, at a ceremony in Hanoi on October 5.
Accordingly, Germany will provide EUR350 million for the grid project in small and medium-sized cities in Vietnam; EUR9.44 million for the programme on reforming vocational training; and EUR10.24 million for the project on forest restoration and management in Vietnam’s Northern and Central Regions.Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Tran Xuan Ha said that the signing of the pact reflected German Government’s support for Vietnam’s national development.
With prioritised fields including environmental protection, vocational training and energy, Germany’s support had contributed to improving Vietnam’s infrastructure system and the quality of life for residents while reaffirming the developed and sustainable relations between the two Governments, he stressed.
He expressed his hope that the cooperation between the two Governments would further consolidate and develop in the time to come.
For his part, Ambassador Christian Berger said that the agreement affirmed the German Government’s efforts to assist Vietnam in realising its strategy on green growth, vocational training reform and sustainable forest management.
