Frost appears on Fansipan Mountain

Mount Fansipan in the northern province of Lao Cai saw frost as temperatures plunged to below zero degrees Celsius early on Saturday morning, according to the Lao Cai Province Hydro-Meteorological Station.

This is a rare sight at this time of year in the area.


At 4am, the thick frost was seen covering plants in the area.

The northern region of Vietnam has experienced a cold spell with heavy rains from March 31-April 1. This is forecasted to be the last cold spell at the end of spring as summer is coming.
