In May, Bui Quang Huy, general director of mobile phone sales chain Nhat Cuong Mobile, and nine other people were arrested for trans-national for smuggling activities. On July 9, Huy was further accused of money laundering.

On November 29, the Ministry of Public Security announced that the ministry's Investigation Agency (C03) has expanded the investigation into smuggling activities, money laundering and violating the regulations on accounting, causing serious consequences at Nhat Cuong Technic Company, Nhat Cuong Software and related units.

Based on the evidence, the police will start an investigation into violations of bidding regulations and causing serious consequences at the Department of Planning and Investment and related units.

They issued an arrest warrant and prosecuted Nguyen Tien Hoc, former director of Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, Pham Thi Kim Tuyen, head of the department's registration office and Le Duy Tuan, director of Dong Kinh Investment and Development Company.

Bui Quang Huy, who is being wanted, is also accused of violating bidding regulations and causing serious consequences.

The police are gathering evidence and expanding the investigation.
