Foreign arrivals to Vietnam reached 813,007 in September, bringing the total foreign travelers during the first nine months to 7,265,380 up 25.7% against last year’s corresponding period, reports the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO).

Of the figure, 670,015 foreigners travelled by air, 12,382 by sea and 130,610 by road. Markets posting the growth in the nine-month period included Hong Kong (79%), China (57.7%), the Republic of Korea (39.9%), Thailand (34.1%), New Zealand (31.7%), Italy (31.1%), Spain (27.9%), Russia (26.5%), the Netherland (24.4%) and Sweden (23.8%). During the same period, the numbers of domestic tourists hit 48.8 million, getting US$12 million in total revenue.
