Fine particles pollution worsens in the north.
The Vietnam Environment Administration has announced the air quality index measured at the monitoring stations in the northern, central and southern regions in August. The results show that the index of the fine particles in most urban areas stayed within safe levels. However, in late August, the air quality worsened.
Despite being in safe levels, the fine particle index in Hanoi was higher than in other urban areas. The air quality index on Hang Dau Street fell to an unsafe level on August 27 while other stations reported normal to good air quality. The air quality in Tan Mai Ward, Hoang Mai District, was good for a whole month.
The air quality in the northern region often worsens starting from September, especially fine particle pollution. There may be heavy waves of air pollution.
