At around 4:30 pm on April 10, a sudden thunderstorm hit N2 Street in the Nam Tan Uyen I Industrial Park in Tan Uyen City, toppling several trees onto the road.
At the time, Tran Vu Em, 16, from Ca Mau, was riding a motorbike with a girl of the same age, Tong Thi Ngoc Nha, when they were struck by a falling tree.
The scence of the incident
The accident left both injured.
Nha was later transferred to Binh Duong General Hospital for further treatment but died from her severe injuries.
On April 10, Binh Duong experienced heavy rainfall, leading to deep flooding on several roads in Ben Cat City. Strong winds uprooted many trees in Phu Giao District and Thu Dau Mot City, while hail was also reported in Phuoc Vinh Town.
