The animal, which is listed as a rare and endangered species in Vietnam’s Red Book, was rescued by police in Lang Giang District on Wednesday.

The rare and endangered turtle weighs up to 22 kilos
The turtle has been sent to the Centre for Rescue, Conservation and Biological Development in Cuc Phuong National Park to be taken care of.
This is the biggest turtle received by the national park so far. In Vietnam, there are few such big turtles.
Earlier on March 20, up to 92 animals of 17 wild species were taken to Cuc Phuong National Park after being rescued.
Cuc Phuong is Vietnam’s first national park and is known for its wild animal rescue and care.
To date, the national park has received thousands of rescued wild animals of different species.
