Endangered baby turtles released into the sea

As many as 84 endangered baby sea turtles were released into the sea in the southern central province of Binh Thuan Province after hatching.

As many as 84 endangered baby sea turtles were released into the sea in the southern central province of Binh Thuan Province after hatching on June 7.

Do Minh Loc, head of the Aquatic Resources Protection Station on the island, said that the turtle nest was found at Lach Bai Phu Beach in Phu Quy District.

The staff station brought the animals to Nho Beach which is some one kilometre from the nest for their release.

The station rescued and released more than 30 baby sea turtles to sea earlier this year.

The sea turtle is in urgent need of protection. It is listed in Vietnam’s Red Book and is considered an endangered species by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
