Opera Mini, the popular online phone browser, ranked Dantri.com.vn as the second most visited site by its users in Vietnam in October, only behind Google.com.

The company’s report showed that Vietnam posted the 7th position among the top ten countries with the highest number of Opera Mini users in October. During the month, Vietnam recorded a 364.2% rise in terms of page-view growth compared to October 2009. The country also was listed among the top three countries where users were most likely to have asked someone on a date using short message service.
The report covered over 300,000 Opera Mini users, focusing on those between 18 and 27 years old and also indicated that Opera Mini had over 76.3 million users in October 2010 across the world with over 41.6 billion pages viewed.
In October 2010, Opera Mini users generated over 616 million MB of data for operators worldwide. Since September, the data consumed went up by 15.1%. Data in Opera Mini is compressed by up to 90%. If this data were uncompressed, Opera Mini users would have viewed over 5.7 petabytes of data in October, up 134% on-year.
