Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, Tran Viet Truong, meets British businessman Joe Lewis on June 7
Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, Tran Viet Truong on June 7 had a meeting with the British businessman on his yacht during his third visit to the city.
At the meeting, Lewis said that he returned to Can Tho because he loved the local landscapes, clean air and especially the friendly people.
The British businessman noted that he saw the potential for developing yacht services for tourists in Can Tho thanks to its dense system of canals and rivers. He also proposed that local authorities should simplify customs procedures for more foreign yachts as Vietnam has enough conditions to become a capital for yachts in Asia.
Lewis invited Can Tho chairman to visit Florida and the Bahamas to see yacht marina facilities.
Chairman Tran Viet Truong thanked the British businessman for his love for Can Tho and his proposals and invitation. He said that local authorities had some plans for the city development including ports.
Lewis visited Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho. His Aviva superyacht will leave Can Tho on June 9.
