Provincial authorities on November 2 instructed relevant agencies and contractors to accelerate construction while maintaining quality, workplace safety and environmental standards.
Nguyen Hong Hai, Standing Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong People's Committee, called for additional resources and closer supervision of contractors to ensure the project meets its scheduled completion date.

He also urged agencies to resolve outstanding difficulties and coordinate efforts to bring the airport into operation as planned, supporting the province's economic growth.
According to Nguyen Duc Minh Tien, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Construction, significant progress has been made during the first six months of construction.
As of October 31, piling work for the passenger terminal was fully completed, while foundation and ground beam construction had reached 68 per cent.
At the air traffic control tower, piling and foundation reinforcement and formwork installation were 100 per cent complete.
Work on supporting infrastructure is also progressing, with ground levelling for taxiways and aircraft parking areas reaching 63 per cent.
Ground levelling for landside facilities and auxiliary structures was 60 per cent complete, while the airfield drainage system had also reached 60 per cent.
The Department of Construction is working with the investor, the Air Defence-Air Force Service and relevant agencies on connecting the civilian airport's technical infrastructure with the existing military airfield.
According to Sun Phan Thiet Airport Co Ltd, nearly 80 machines and pieces of equipment have been deployed to the construction site, alongside approximately 250 engineers and workers.
The company plans to increase manpower and equipment in the coming months to maintain construction progress and bring the civilian facilities into operation in 2027.
Phan Thiet Airport is designed for both military and civilian use. The military section, funded by the Ministry of National Defence, was completed and became operational in late 2025.
The civilian section, developed to ICAO Code 4E standards, involves an investment of nearly VND 3.9 trillion (approximately USD 150 million).
Covering 75 hectares, the project includes aircraft parking areas, taxiways, air navigation facilities, an air traffic control tower, an operations building and a passenger terminal.
The airport is designed to handle two million passengers annually by 2030.
Tourism businesses in coastal Lam Dong expect the airport to improve regional connectivity as demand for leisure, business and official travel increases.
They also anticipate that improved air links between coastal resorts and highland ecotourism destinations will attract investment, support trade and services, and create new jobs in the eastern part of the province.
