100 people mobilised as forest fire reignites in Bac Ninh

About 100 people have been deployed to fight a forest fire in Bac Ninh after flames, initially brought under control, reignited on the evening of November 1.

According to the Tien Phong Ward People's Committee, the fire broke out in Phan Son residential quarter on the afternoon of November 1. Initial investigations suggest it started when a resident burned vegetation on privately owned forest land, before the flames spread out of control to surrounding areas.

The blaze is estimated to have affected about one hectare of forest. Local authorities quickly mobilised personnel and equipment to contain it.

However, the fire flared up again that evening, prompting authorities to deploy around 100 people to prevent it from spreading further. Firefighting operations were still under way.

Earlier, Bac Ninh's Department of Agriculture and Environment warned of an increased risk of forest fires due to hot weather, with some areas experiencing intense heat, high temperatures and low relative humidity.

To strengthen fire prevention and control, the city's Forest Protection Department has instructed local authorities and forest owners to step up inspections in high-risk areas, deploy patrol teams and respond promptly to any signs of fire.
