The service, operated by Ha Lan Trading and Tourism Joint Stock Company, was inaugurated during celebrations marking the province's 195th anniversary and the 2026 Thai Nguyen International Tea Festival.
The project represents an investment of VND 60 billion (USD 2.3 million), covering 15 new KIM LONG B40-EV electric buses manufactured in 2026, five 240-kW charging units and supporting electrical infrastructure.

The infrastructure also includes a 22-kV power line and a 1,600-kVA transformer station to support charging operations.
Nguyen Manh Ha, chairman of Ha Lan Trading and Tourism Joint Stock Company, said the operator would prioritise safe, reliable services, passenger convenience and customer satisfaction.
He said the company would work closely with local authorities and explore opportunities to expand its green public transport network when conditions permit.
Under a resolution effective from January 1, 2026, eligible green bus investment projects can receive interest rate support of six per cent annually for up to seven years.
The subsidy can cover up to the full value of an eligible loan, provided the loan does not exceed 80 per cent of the approved vehicle value.
The province also offers free or discounted bus fares for certain passenger groups to encourage greater use of public transport.

Thai Nguyen aims to have green-energy vehicles account for at least 40 per cent of its public transport fleet by 2030.
Speaking at the launch, Standing Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen People's Committee Nguyen Linh said the electric bus service marked a step towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions, noise pollution and improving local air quality.
He urged the operator to maintain reliable schedules, clean vehicles and high safety standards while complying with transport regulations.
The provincial Department of Construction was also asked to develop further policies supporting a safe, integrated and sustainable public transport network.
Thai Nguyen currently has more than 1,700 public passenger transport vehicles, including over 170 buses, carrying more than 12,500 passengers daily.
Before the introduction of electric buses, Route 01 between Tan Long and Da Phuc operated 13 conventional fuel-powered buses, serving more than 1,600 passengers a day.
