The municipal People's Committee has issued a plan for activities marking the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, which falls on July 27, 2027. The proposed park redevelopment is among the projects intended to honour people who have contributed to the country.

The municipal Department of Construction has been assigned to lead the project, working with the HCM City Military Command, Department of Home Affairs, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Finance, Hoa Hung Ward People's Committee and other relevant agencies. The target is to complete the work by July 27, 2027.

The city also plans to begin construction of the Vinh Quang Square project in 2027, alongside land clearance in the protected area surrounding Con Dao's historical relic sites. The Con Dao Special Zone People's Committee will lead the project.

HCM City aims to ensure that all facilities honouring fallen soldiers, martyrs' cemeteries, memorial steles and monuments across the city are upgraded, repaired and refurbished. According to an appendix to the plan, restoration of these facilities and martyrs' graves must be completed before April 2027.

To improve living conditions for people who have contributed to the country and families of fallen soldiers, the city also plans to provide support for home repairs and new housing construction, with the work due to be completed before April 2027.
