Residents and visitors to Dalat have been surprised by the unusually early blossoms on old peach trees across the Central Highlands city.

Nguyen Thuc Hung, born in 1971 and living in Xuan Huong-Dalat Ward, said his family has three Nhat Tan peach trees, each around 20 years old.

In previous years, the trees typically blossomed in the final lunar month, shortly before Tet, and produced fresh green leaves in early spring. This year, however, they began flowering more than three months ahead of the holiday.

Meanwhile, decades-old pink-flowered peach trees belonging to Nguyen Van Quang's family in Lam Vien-Dalat Ward began shedding their leaves in late August on the lunar calendar. Some branches have since developed buds and flowers.

To preserve the blossoms for Tet, the family has had to adjust its care routine, including suspending fertilisation and watering to slow the trees' growth, according to a family member.

A peach branch in full bloom on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street in Xuan Huong-Dalat Ward has also attracted attention.
Residents said old peach trees across Dalat began flowering in early September on the lunar calendar, around October 10.

The unexpected blossoms have added a distinctive touch to the mountain city's scenery, delighting tourists.
Doan Thi Phuong Anh, born in 2003 and visiting from Dong Nai, said she was surprised to see peach blossoms at this time of year. "Seeing the flowers makes me feel as though Tet is just around the corner," she added.

Two old peach trees at an office compound on Le Hong Phong Street in Xuan Huong-Dalat Ward have also begun shedding their leaves, with scattered blossoms appearing on their branches.
The early flowering has drawn photography enthusiasts keen to capture the unusual scenes.

Some residents are concerned that the blossoms may indicate unusual weather conditions, while hoping the trees will flower again in time for Tet.
