The second ESG Company Tour 2026 took place at Binh Minh Plastics' factory in Tay Ninh Province on the afternoon of October 29, under the theme “Automation- Efficiency-Green finance”. The event was led by Dantri Newspaper in collaboration with SCG and BM Plasco, attracting strong interest from businesses, including small and medium-sized enterprises in HCM City.
The programme gave businesses an opportunity to learn about practical ESG implementation, exchange management experience, optimise resources and consider investment options suited to their scale and financial capacity.
Speaking at the event, Nguyen Thu Hang, deputy editor-in-chief of Dantri, said ESG was no longer just a matter of environmental responsibility or regulatory compliance. For Vietnamese businesses, particularly manufacturers, it was increasingly linked to competitiveness, operational efficiency and long-term sustainable growth.
Against this backdrop, digital transformation, automation and robotics offer opportunities to raise productivity, improve quality control and use resources more efficiently. Green finance can also open up additional funding opportunities for projects focused on energy efficiency, emissions reduction and technological innovation.
“We hope to bring ESG closer to factory-floor realities, so businesses can not only keep up with emerging trends but also observe practices first-hand, exchange experience and identify solutions they can apply to their own production and business operations,” Hang said.
Niwat Athiwattananont, vice-president of SCG Vietnam and general director of Binh Minh Plastics JSC, said SCG believed the green transition must go hand in hand with investment in new technologies. This would help businesses meet environmental requirements while improving productivity and resource efficiency to strengthen their competitiveness.
He said the transition remained challenging, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises. Many businesses were keen to transform but faced constraints in financing, technology, expertise and human resources.
The programme opened with a discussion titled “Automation-Efficiency-Green finance”, bringing together experts, associations and businesses to examine opportunities, challenges and practical solutions for the green transition. Speakers shared experience in corporate governance, energy and emissions management, technology adoption, automation and resource optimisation in manufacturing.
A key highlight was a site visit to Binh Minh Plastics' factory, where participants could directly observe how ESG solutions were integrated into production and operational processes.
The visit offered practical insights into the company's green transition and sustainable development efforts.
The Vietnam ESG Forum is an annual event initiated and organised by Dantri since 2024. Its key activities include conferences, panel discussions, company tours and the Vietnam ESG Awards, which recognise organisations with strong ESG practices.
The 2026 Vietnam ESG Forum, scheduled for December, will be held under the theme “Seizing opportunities-Leading growth”. The theme reflects the growing importance of environmental, social and governance standards in determining business competitiveness.
This year's forum will focus not only on the urgency of early action but also on the leading role businesses and organisations can play in turning challenges into drivers of sustainable growth.
