According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a strengthening cold air mass would bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to areas from Thanh Hoa to Hue from the evening of October 27 through October 28, with localised rainfall exceeding 80 mm.

Further cold air outbreaks, combined with increasingly active disturbances in upper-level easterly winds, are expected to trigger a spell of heavy rain across central Vietnam.
From October 27 to 29, areas between Ha Tinh and Danang are forecast to receive 60-120 mm of rain, with some locations recording more than 250 mm.
Forecasters also warned of intense downpours exceeding 100 mm within three hours.
Thunderstorms could bring tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts.
Heavy rain over short periods could cause flooding in low-lying and urban areas, while increasing the risk of flash floods in small rivers and streams and landslides in mountainous and steep terrain.
Residents in affected areas have been urged to monitor weather updates closely, particularly in locations prone to flooding, flash floods and landslides.
