Chinese fugitive arrested in Haiphong and handed over to China

Vietnamese police have handed Fang ZhiZhong, a 57-year-old Chinese national wanted by Chinese authorities, over to China’s Ministry of Public Security at Huu Nghi International Border Gate.

Haiphong police said they discovered that Fang was wanted by Chinese authorities and had fled to Vietnam.

On September 21, officers coordinated to arrest him while he was hiding in Hai An Ward, Haiphong City.

On October 2, Haiphong police issued an administrative penalty against Fang for crossing the national border without completing the required exit and entry procedures.

Under the decision, he was fined and given an additional penalty of deportation.
