The festival, themed 'A Gathering of Colours, Warmth of Unity', will take place at Bac Ha Cultural Market, Hoang A Tuong Mansion, the commune's central stadium and surrounding villages.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 7.30 pm on November 14 at Bac Ha Night Market, featuring performances celebrating the cultural diversity of local ethnic communities.
Highlights include traditional horse racing, buffalo markets on November 14 and 21, and Bac Ha's weekly markets on November 15 and 22.
Visitors can explore local handicrafts, traditional food and agricultural products while experiencing the distinctive trading culture of the northern highlands.
The festival will also mark the announcement of geographical indication protection for Bac Ha cinnamon bark and a certification trademark for the Bac Ha White Plateau.
Tourists can visit Bac Ha Temple and Hoang A Tuong Mansion, enjoy horseback riding at sunset on Ngai Thau Hill and Na Hoi grasslands, or explore nearby ethnic villages and waterfalls.
The event will conclude on November 24 with traditional ethnic sports competitions, including tug-of-war, crossbow shooting and stick pushing.
Bac Ha welcomed 930,559 visitors in the first nine months and the opening day of October, reaching 93 per cent of its annual target of one million. International arrivals totalled 8,021.
Tourism revenue was estimated at VND 1.68 trillion (USD 64 million), equivalent to 68 per cent of the annual target.
The commune has hosted a series of cultural and tourism events throughout 2026, including summer and autumn festivals, while its weekly Saturday night market attracts around 1,500 visitors per evening.
The winter festival aims to promote Bac Ha's ethnic heritage, natural attractions and community-based tourism as the northern highlands enter the year-end travel season.
