Representatives of Dantri/DTiNews Newspaper, together with local officials, visited Nguyen Thi Ha, 27, in Dong Loc Commune and presented a symbolic cheque for VND 180.81 million raised by readers.

The full amount had already been transferred to Ha's bank account following an earlier Dantri appeal highlighting her son's life-threatening condition.
Ha expressed her gratitude to readers for their generosity, saying the donations had given her family much-needed financial support for her son's treatment.
Duong Van Tuan, Party Secretary of Dong Loc Commune, thanked Dantri and its readers for helping the family and expressed hope for continued cooperation in supporting disadvantaged residents.
Ha married Nguyen Tien Tinh, also 27, in early 2025. Their first child, Gia Hung, was born in late October that year.

Soon afterwards, Tinh left to work overseas to support the family, leaving Ha to care for their son.
Gia Hung initially developed normally, but at three months old, his mother noticed that he barely moved his arms and legs.
When he was four months old, she took him to Hanoi for medical examinations, where doctors diagnosed spinal muscular atrophy type 1, a rare and potentially fatal genetic neuromuscular disorder.
His condition has since deteriorated rapidly. He cannot control his neck muscles, sit independently, grasp objects or roll over, and suffers from feeding difficulties, a weak cry and repeated episodes of severe respiratory distress.
The family later learned of an early-access experimental treatment programme for children with spinal muscular atrophy in Indonesia.
However, they would need around VND 3 billion (USD 114,000) to cover the associated costs.
Despite borrowing money, selling valuable possessions and using their savings, the couple remain far short of the required amount.
Ha now provides round-the-clock care for her son, while the family depends entirely on her husband's earnings to cover daily expenses, medication and support for elderly relatives.
Unable to afford their own home, the couple live with Tinh's family.
