The vessel was sailing from Hong Kong, China, to Vietnam before calling at Phuoc An Port.

The Carnival Luminosa can accommodate about 3,000 people, including more than 900 crew members. After completing immigration procedures at the port, passengers joined organised tours and were scheduled to return to the ship later that afternoon. The vessel would then continue its voyage to Singapore.

Earlier this year, Dong Nai welcomed about 1,000 international tourists arriving at Phuoc An Port to visit attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. That visit marked the first international cruise ship to arrive in Vietnam through the deep-water port, opening up opportunities to develop cruise tourism in Dong Nai and the wider southern region.

Dong Nai’s tourism sector has been working with travel companies to develop cruise itineraries and survey attractions near Phuoc An Port. The initiative aims to meet international visitors’ demand for sightseeing, local experiences and shopping when arriving at the city’s largest deep-water port.
