Provincial authorities confirmed on October 20 that Hon La Port Joint Stock Company had been granted permission to dispose of the material in a designated offshore area.
The site, off Phu Trach Commune, covers 17.2 hectares and has water depths ranging from 23.16 to 24.35 metres.

The company must operate within the approved boundaries and comply with all licensing conditions.
Quang Tri's Department of Agriculture and Environment will coordinate with relevant agencies and local authorities to monitor the disposal operation and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
The province said the activity must not pollute the sea, damage marine ecosystems or obstruct shipping and other lawful maritime activities.
Operations must be suspended immediately if environmental monitoring readings exceed permitted limits, pollution incidents occur or erosion affects coastal embankments and shorelines.
The company may resume work only after completing the required remedial measures.
Quang Tri has ordered the operator to follow approved dredging plans and take precautions against oil spills, chemical leaks and other environmental incidents.
The company must protect marine ecosystems and fisheries, ensure safety at sea and compensate for any damage caused.
The dredging project aims to increase the capacity of the Hon La shipping channel, which currently accommodates fully loaded vessels of up to 10,000 deadweight tonnes (DWT).
Upgrading the channel is expected to allow larger vessels to enter the port, improve cargo-handling capacity and support the Hon La Economic Zone and other industrial parks in Quang Tri.
The project is also intended to strengthen international cargo transit links serving Laos and northeastern Thailand.
