Major General Nguyen Duc Tang, deputy political commissar of the General Department of Defence Industry, said the four-day exhibition would run from December 10 to 13 at Gia Lam Airport.

The opening ceremony is expected to feature a performance by special forces and a helicopter flypast by the Vietnam People’s Air Force. The public will be able to visit the exhibition on December 12 and 13.

Tang said 189 companies and organisations from 36 countries had registered to take part, including those from the UK, Russia, Japan and Turkey.

“The exhibition will showcase weapons and technical equipment from the armed forces and the People’s Public Security forces, including many new products,” Tang said. General Secretary and State President To Lam is expected to attend and deliver a speech at the event.

According to organisers, the exhibition site will cover about 123,800 square metres, an increase of approximately 23,800 square metres from the 2024 edition. Indoor exhibition space will account for around 23,500 square metres, while outdoor displays will occupy about 24,700 square metres.

Registrants have booked approximately 8,020 square metres of indoor space and 425 square metres outdoors. The exhibition will also feature 16 national pavilions, with further discussions under way with companies and organisations over a combined area of about 8,160 square metres.

Domestic and international defence companies will present combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons and equipment for naval, ground, air defence and air force operations, as well as cyber warfare and logistical and technical support.

Indoor displays organised by the Ministry of National Defence are expected to feature products and services developed and manufactured by Vietnamese defence industry agencies, units and companies.
